“Most men, it seems to me, do not care for Nature and would sell their share in all her beauty, as long as they may live, for a stated sum... Thank God, men cannot as yet fly, and lay waste to the sky as well as the earth... It is for the very reason that some do not care for those things that we need to combine to protect all from the vandalism of a few.” - Henry David Thoreau – January 3rd, 1861

On Tuesday, March 25th, nearly 60 faith community members from across Massachusetts came together in a powerful webinar to address the environmental injustice of private jet expansion, uniting voices from various religious traditions to challenge climate-damaging practices. The event, co-sponsored by UU Mass Action and the Coalition to Stop Private Jet Expansion, highlighted the crucial role of faith communities in taking decisive action against egregious private jet expansion at Hanscom or anywhere. Stay poised for Hanscom Developers’ SDEIR report -
likely to be filed early summer
Last June, EEA Secretary Tepper rejected the Hanscom developers’ DEIR (Draft Environmental Impact Report) after receiving over 1,500 public comments, 13,500 petition signatures, and an important independent analysis that refuted the developers’ claims. Tepper instructed the developers to go back to the drawing board to produce an SDEIR (Supplementary DEIR). The SDEIR is still expected to be filed early summer and Massport is scheduling public presentations for May. Visit this home page frequently to stay up to date.
